Frequently asked questions

What am I buying?

A self-managed tunnel carrying one dedicated, routed premium public IPv4 /32 to one external VM or physical server.

Is the public IPv4 dedicated?

Yes. Each service receives one public IPv4 /32 assigned exclusively to that service while it is active. The address remains part of Pathfabric's network space and is released when the service is deleted.

Will this work on a VM, or do I need a dedicated server?

No dedicated server is required. The service works on a VM or physical server as long as you can configure its networking and the provider permits your selected tunnel. GRE and IPIP require a stable public IPv4 and the applicable IP protocol. WireGuard is generally easier behind NAT.

Can I switch between GRE, IPIP, and WireGuard?

Yes. The public IPv4 remains assigned, but applying a tunnel change invalidates the old tunnel and may briefly interrupt connectivity.

Does the speed cap apply to combined traffic?

No. The selected cap applies independently to inbound and outbound traffic.

How is metered transfer billed?

Inbound and outbound advance through separate marginal volume tiers. Inbound rates are 70% lower than outbound rates.

What does unmetered mean?

An unmetered service has no per-GiB charge. It is prepaid by committed Mbps on calendar-month boundaries, while transfer remains visible in usage charts.

Can I switch between metered and unmetered billing?

No. Order a new service if you need the other billing model.

Can I pause a service?

No. Customer-controlled pause is not supported. To stop a service, delete a metered service or schedule cancellation of an unmetered service at its paid-through date.

How do I add funds?

Redeem a single-use USD voucher in the billing portal.

Where can I contact you?

Existing customers can open a portal ticket. Legal contact is available through IT7 Networks.
